On Sunday, 120 Juniors from across Bristol and Portishead graded in three busy sessions at High Down School.

During the school summer holidays Caroline was invited to take a number of bootcamp sessions for junior aged children (7-11) for The Fitquest, an adult fitness company based in Coalpit Heath. The sessions were enormous fun and the kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves despite working VERY hard!

Sempai Simon Mackown is opening a brand new DKK juniors club based at St Annes Church in Brislington, Bristol.

Classes will be for children aged 7+ and start on Saturday 7th September.

The class will run from 9:30am-10:30am except for one Saturday in the month when the session will be 2pm-3pm. This is due to other Church activities.

Arrived home about 20 minutes ago. A long day but so worth it seeing so many small and not so small karate kids training hard.  It always amazes me how well they perform on the day.  We'll relax for a short while but not for too long.  It was great to see Lewis achieve his probationary black belt (Shodan Ho).  He performed well on many aspects of the grading, especially his throws, weapons defence and sparring the adult black belts, as did Larry who is now a brown belt.  Remember what ever your grade you did well.  Without my black belts and other grades there the grading could never go a head, so a huge thank you to them.

As the village hall is being used for elections on Thursday 15th November, training in Frenchay will take place on the common in front of the school. We will aim to start at 1545 and finish at 1645 before it gets too dark!

Please ensure children wear warm clothes and bring a drink with them.

The Frenchay club Student of the Month award for October was awarded to Zac Webb for continued hard work and enthusiasm. Well done Zac!
